Mooretown Flags Downed by Blades

The Flags hosted the Blenheim Blades Wednesday night and dropped a 4 - 2 decision in Great Lakes Jr. C hockey league action..

 

Blenheim scored the only goal in the first period then added two more early in the second to take a 3 - 0 lead.  Mooretown's Ryan Lyle from Sam Jasmin and Dan Lumley lit the lamp at 14:45 and the second would end with Blenheim up 3 - 1 heading into the third.

 

Third period saw Justin Vanbuskirk narrow the gap with Jasmin picking up his second assist and Frankie White earning a point on the goal.  Blenheim regained the 2 goal lead at 13:30 and the game finished with Blenheim taking the win.


Scoring for Blenheim were Mike Myers, Teddy McGeen (PP), Derek Muzzatti and Kirk McKillop.

 

Mooretown went zero for five on the power play, Blenheim scored once on four chances.


The Blades outshot the Flags 35-28.  Flags netminder Brandon Johnson made 31 saves and Klinton Kenney made 26 saves for the win.


The Flags are back in action on Friday night when the team travels to Alvinston for a 7:30 pm puck drop.   Next home game is set for Wednesday December 3 whey they host Lakeshore at 8:00 pm at the Moore Sports Complex.
