Mooretown Flags Penalties Killed Lead

The Flags allowed four power play goals in the game and took a 6 - 5 loss in Blenheim in Great Lakes Jr. C league action on Sunday night.
Both
sides shared single goals in the
first period. Corbin
Hagerman opened the scoring for
Blenheim scoring the first power
play goal. Brett Thompson
tied the game with Sam Jasmin
and Ryan Lyle earning assists.
In
the second Blenheim scored :47
seconds into the period their
second power play goal by Teddy
McGeen. At 1:38 Thompson
tied things up scoring his
second goal with Jasmin and Lyle
again earning the assists.
Blenheim regained the lead at
3:17 with Keelen Kaniecki
scoring. Two quick goals
late in the period by Mooretown
the first by Ryan Lyle from Matt
Brandon and Sam Jasmin and the
second by Dallas Harper from
Alec Segers and Justin Melo gave
the Flags a 4 - 3 lead heading
into the third.
Brett Thompson scored his third
goal and the only power play
goal at 3:07 in the third to
widen the lead to 5 - 3.
Later in the period at Blenheim
came back and tied the game
after scoring two quick power
play goals the first at 11:27
and the second at 11:52.
Teddy McGeen and Zack Horvath
scored the two power play goals.
With just five seconds remaining
in the game Horvath found the
opening and scored the game
winner for Blenheim.
Brandon Johnson suffered the
loss in net for the Flags after
making 40 saves. Eric
Stewardson allowed three goals
on 17 shots and was replace by
Klinton Kenney who turned away
six of seven shots.
Mooretown scored one power play
goals on three opportunities,
Blenheim went four on five.
The
Flags are now 2-6-1 for the
season and return to action
after Thanksgiving when
they host the Alvinston Flyers
on Saturday October 18 at the
Moore Sports Complex. Game
time at 7:30 pm.
