Mooretown Flags dropped
a 3-2 decision in Essex
Tuesday night night in
Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey
league action.
Mooretown got on the
board early with Dan
Lumley scoring 1:18 into
the game on a feed from
Sam Jasmin. Essex would
tie the game midway
through the first period
on a power play marker
and then take a 2-1 lead
by the end of the first.
Brett Thompson from
Justin Vanbuskirk tied
things up for Mooretown
early in the second.
Essex regained the lead
a few minutes later.
There was no scoring in
the third.
The Flags were outshot
32-19. Brandon Johnson
took the loss in net.
Mooretown took
twenty-four minutes on
twelve infractions in
penalties, Essex took
fourteen minutes on
seven infractions.
Mooretown was zero for
five on the power play
while Essex was one for
nine.
Next up the Flags are
hosting the Dresden
Kings on Saturday
September 20th at the
Moore Sports Complex
with a 7:30 pm puck
drop. On Sunday
the Flags will travel
south to face the
Amherstburg Admirals.
