Monday Aug 20th Esso vs. MIG:
In the opening minutes the Game was a little slower pace than normal as many players from both teams competed in the 7 vs. 7 soccer tournament playing 5-7 games on Sunday. Midway through the half Esso picked it up but couldn’t convert which left the halftime score 0-0.
In the 63rd Veteran Kevin Parris put Esso up 1-0. However in the 75 minute MIG tied it up from a goal from Bob West. The Game looked like it was going to be a draw, but in the 85th minute Brian Cook sent a through ball to A.J. Black in which he made no mistake firing it past the goalkeeper. The final whistle blew with the final score 2-1.
With the win Combined with the City Centre Loss meant Esso clinched 2nd place in the regular Season they will face the #3 seed in the Semi-Finals, which will be either City Centre Car Wash or ANJ Industrial.
Esso will look to finish strong in their final regular Season game vs. City Centre Car Wash game time will be at 6:30 at Norm Perry Back Field on Wednesday August 22nd.
