Sarnia Brave Men's lost game 1 in Ontario Senior AAA Men's Elimination Tournament

Windsor, On - The Sarnia Braves Senior Men's are in Windsor this weekend competing in the Ontario Senior AAA Elimination Tournament.  The winner of this tournament advances to the National Championships Aug 23 - 27 in Prince George, BC.

In Sarnia's first game at Woddslee Park, the Braves battled hard and lost 4 - 3 to Strathroy. Sarnia took a 2 - 0 lead in the second, Strathroy narrowed the gap in the third scoring 1 run and took the lead in the fourth scoring 2 runs.  Sarnia tied things up in the 7th inning and the two battled until the 11th when Strathroy scored the winning run for the win.

Sanria had a total of 8 hits and 5 errors, Strathroy had 10 hits and 0 errors.

Nick Baljeu pitched 5 innings striking out 4 allowing 6 hits and 3 runs.  Mike Damchuck pitched 4 innings striking out 1, allowing 1 hit and 0 runs.  Rory Fell came in for the final 2 innings allowing 2 hits and a single run.

Batting for the Braves were James Grant hitting 2 singles, Jim Sequin and Tyler Young both hit a double and a single in the game and hitting singles wer Wade Babula and Alex McLean.

The Braves play game 2 on Saturday Aug 4 at 9:30 am at the Essex Diamond in Essex.
