Petrolia Girls Bantam C Bring Home Silver at St. Thomas Panthers Tournament

Petrolia Girls Bantam C team won silver at the St Thomas Panthers tournament. During round robin play they defeated St Thomas 2-1 on goals by Tristan Jackson and Emma Mundy, and goalie Jodi Garrett earned shut outs against Woodstock 1-0 on a goal by Bailey Shannon and Tilsonburg 2-0 on goals by Mundy and Shannon. They lost to St. Mary's 2-0.

They met St Mary's in a rematch for the final and took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period on a goal by Mundy. Late in the

3rd, St. Mary's tied the game. The game continued through overtime and ultimately a shoot out, which St. Mary's won 1-0. It was a tough loss, but an impressive team effort that had improved with every game.

Adding assists throughout the weekend were Delaney Cullinan (4), Ashley Simpson (3), Jasmine Martin, Kayla Hammond and Jackson. All players contributed with hard work and great team spirit for every game through offense added by Mackenzie Limb, Riley Cullinan and Hollie Walsh and defense from Simone Bouffard, Hannah Mullin, Lindsay Kirkland and Shayna McNally.

The head coach is Kailey Whitlaw, assistants James Whitlaw, Rob Cullinan, Doug Hammond and trainer Chrissy Jackson.
