The Sting took the lead shortly thereafter when Dillon Saunders banged the puck home following a scramble in front of Stratford’s net. Kevin Durco and Devin Butler drew assists. A string of penalties followed and the period ended with Sarnia still holding the lead.

Stratford scored two quick goals early in the third to tie the game then take the lead. Michael Pearce retied the game at 13:36 with a steep angle shot that eluded the goalie’s glove. Gage Riddoch and Jeff Williams drew assists on the play. That is the score the game ended at in spite of fighting, slashing and unsportsmanlike penalties for yapping. Cole Lauzon kept Sarnia in the game as the Sting were outshot badly 43 to 16.
