Sarnia Legionnaires Took a Beating in LaSalle

The Sarnia Legionnaires took a beating in LaSalle on Wednesday and came home with a 9 - 3 loss in Greater Ontario Jr B Hockey League action.

 

LaSalle scored four goals in the first, three in the second and two in the third.  Sarnia scored a single in the first and two power play goals in the second and were shut out in the third.

 

Jeff King, Derek D'Andrea and Steve Farlow scored for Sarnia.

 

 

LaSalle outshot Sarnia 39 -29.  Goal tending was shared by Sean Parker and Andrew Ganter.  Parker made 8 saves on 13 shots, Ganter 22 saves on 26 shots.  Conner MacKinnon earned the win for LaSalle.

 

Sarnia went 2 for 6 on power play opportunities and denied LaSalle on 9 opportunities.

 

Sarnia is now 13 - 16 - 4 for the season and remain in 7th spot with 30 points, just 2 points ahead of St. Marys.  Lambton Shores is following at their doorstep with 27 points.

 

The battle will continue as Legionnaires will take on St. Marys tonight at home at the Sarnia arena beginning at 7:10.
