Lambton Shores finished off 2012 with a 6 - 4 win over the LaSalle Vipers in Greater Ontario Jr B Hockey League Action at the Lambton Shores Rec Centre.
After a scoreless first period the Predators took the lead scoring two power play goals. The first power play goal was scored by Ryan Rotondi from Tanner Ferguson and Kyler Keating at 7:08. Austin Fetterly scored the second with Bryan Boersma and Tanner Ferguson assisting at 9:11. LaSalle came back at 11:38 scoring their lone goal in the period. Another power play goal at 11:57 for the Predators widened their lead with Brett Thompson scoring from Keating and Ferguson. At 16:25 Keegan Hnatiw gave the Predators a 4 - 1 lead heading into the third. Ferdinando Colella and Matteo Ciccarelli assisted on Hnatiw's goal.
The Predators widened their lead early in the third at 2:47 with Matteo Ciccarelli scoring from Colella and Sam Jasmin. LaSalle fought back and at 14:04 Dylan Sequin scored the Vipers second goal. With the extra attacker at 18:20 the Vipers Dylan Denomme narrowed the gap. The Vipers continued to fight back with the extra man but Ryan Rotondi found the empty net and scored his second of the night with Colella and Thompson earning the assist. With just :04 seconds left on the clock LaSalle scored their final goal but time ran out to give the Predators the win.
LaSalle outshot the Predators 38 - 19. Brandon Campbell earned the win in net for the Predators with another outstanding game with a total of 34 saves. Conner MacKinnon took the loss for the Vipers.
The Predators are in a tight race with Sarnia and St. Marys. After 35 games Sarnia has 32 points, St. Marys has 30 points after 33 games and Lambton Shores has 29 points after 32 games.
The Predators are off until the new year when they play a rematch against the Vipers in LaSalle on Wed January 2.
