The Lambton AAA Peewee are
now tied with the Windsor Jr Spitfires after
taking a 2 - 1 OT win in game three of the 6
point series in Alliance Minor Hockey playdown
action.
The
Peewee's started the series with the home game
advantage. In game 1 both sides skated to
a 4 - 4 tie. Game two was in Windsor and
the Jr Sting lost in a close match with a final
score of 4 - 3.
On Thursday Windsor
travelled to Sarnia for game three where the
visitors scored the first goal in the first
period. Bradley Vincent scored for Windsor
assisted by David Pierce and Michael Michie.
In the second period Jacob Williams found the
back of the net with Max Steeves assisting to
even the score. At the end of two periods
both sides were even with 1 apiece.
After
the third period didn't solve a game winner the
two teams went into sudden death overtime.
With :15 seconds left on the clock the two teams
were scrambling in front of Windsor's net when
Jared Pageau found the opening to score the game
winner. Max Steeves earned the assist on
the goal.
Ethan Hunt earned the win
in net for the Jr. Sting.
Both
sides are now even with 3 points each as they
return to Windsor on Saturday for game 4.
