The Sarnia Jr.
Sting Major Atom MD started the Hockey
Alliance of Ontario MD West play-downs by
defeating the Stratford Warriors by a score
of 2-1 on Sunday February 12 at the
Clearwater Arena.
Nathan Oliphant scored both goals for
Sarnia
with Tyler Talbot-Ellis, Ian Bailey and Greg
Ross drawing assists. Stevie Schaefer played
a great game in net for the Jr. Sting
turning away many Stratford chances including two break-away’s.
Stevie was awarded the coach’s player of the
game puck while Nathan Oliphant was the
parents pick. The next action for the Major
Atom MD team is Saturday February 18 at the
Argyle Arena versus the London Bandits. Puck
drops at 5:30.
