Sarnia Jr Sting Major Atom MD defeated the Warriors
February 6, 2012

On Saturday February 4 the Sarnia Jr. Sting Major Atom MD travelled to Stratford to face the Warriors and came home with a 4-1 win.

The home team got off to a quick start just 45 seconds into the game as they scored on their first shot. That would be it for the Stratford scoring as Cam Stevens stopped everything for the rest of the game.

Spencer Baillie got things started for the Jr. Sting early in the 2nd when he ripped a shot top corner from Mat Waun and Collin Zimmer. Greg Ross followed that up with a power play goal and the eventual game winner as his point shot found the bottom corner of the Stratford net. Collin Zimmer was awarded an assist on the play.

Collin Zimmer got a goal of his own in the third on a nice feed from Mat Waun who saw Collin all alone in front of the Stratford net. Cole Goossens was also awarded an assist on the play. Cole finished off the scoring for Sarnia with two minutes left in the third from Aiden Clark and Kaz Gudelis.

Spencer Baillie was awarded the parents player of the game and Cole Goossens was the coach’s pick. The Jr. Sting finish off the regular season at home on Thursday February 9 when they face the London Bandits at the Germain Arena; game time is 6:30.
