In the final game of the
year at home on Saturday the
Beavers were knocked out of
playoffs by the Owen Sound
North Stars in a close game
that ended with a final
score of 10 - 9.
Owen Sound led 5 - 4 after
the first period.
Chris Davey opened the
scoring for the Beavers just
:27 seconds into the game.
Jamie Grimoldby tied things
up at 4:38. Jeff Sauve
of Sarnia regained the lead
for the Beavers then Owen
Sound went on and scored two
goals to take the lead.
Travis Gibbons and Jeff Ivey
scored for the North Starts.
The Beavers came back and
score a pair with Justin
Durston scoring and Chris
Davey with his second of the
game and the lead which
turned out the last time
Sarnia would take the lead
as Owen Sound scored two
more goals before the end of
the period.
In the second Owen Sound
scored 3 goals and Sarnia
scored 2 as the period ended
with Owen Sound in the lead
by a score of 8 - 6.
Scroing for Sarnia were
Michael Fleming and Colin
McDowall. Jordan
McMillen scored a pair of
goals in the second for the
North Stars and Rob Milnes
scored a single.
In the third period the
action went back and forth
with Sarnia scoring 3 and
Owen Sound scoring 2. Jeff
Sauve scored the first and
last goal of the period and
Brian Quinn round out the
scoring.
Dan Walters went the
distance in net for the
Beavers taking the loss
Scott Komer took the win for
the North Stars.
This puts an end to the
Beaver's Season going 0 - 2
in playoff action. In
their first year the team
went 5 - 11 in the regular
season.
