Sarnia
Imperials go back to drawing board after
being thumped by the Titans
Saturday June 9, 2012
Two Time Hec Crighton winner Tom Denison led
his team the Toronto Titans to a 67 - 13 win
over the Sarnia Imperials at Norm Perry Park
Saturday night. Not only did Denison
throw 9 touch down passes he also broke the
record in the NFC for most touch downs in a
game. The record was previously set at 7.
The Titans
opened the scoring on the first series of
plays after the kickoff and earned the extra
point to go up 7 - 0.
Ryan Lounsbury scored the first touch down
for the Imperials early in the first quarter
on a 50 yard reception pass from Steve
Perry. The extra point was blocked to
give the Titans the 7 - 6 lead. The
Titans would run the score up to 41 points
before the Imperials scored their second
touch down after Darrius Norton made a 21
yard pass to Robert Smith. Kevin
Allaer kicked it in for the extra point.
Before the first half was over the Titans
added 6 more points to the scoreboard to end
the first half leading 47 - 13. In the
second half the Titans continued to dominate
and scored 20 more points.
The Imperials
look to put this game behind them and will
continue to work hard for their upcoming
games.
The next two games are away games, the first
in Oakville on June 16 and the second in
Sault Ste. Marie on June 23. The next
home game is Saturday June 30 at Norm Perry
Park with a 7:00 pm kickoff.
