Association play,
completing a sweep of
the Bluewater Whitecaps
of Algonac, Mich. by
scores of 3-0 and 14-4.
The 1st game was
somewhat of a pitching
duel as Jake Marks
pitched a complete game
no-hitter, striking out
15 Whitecap batters,
while walking 3 hitters.
The Braves didn't commit
any errors. Sarnia
managed only 3 hits in
the game, scoring in the
1st, 2nd, and 5th
innings. Travis Helps
had what ended up being
the game winning RBI in
the 1st inning,
grounding out to 2nd
base, but scoring
Dominic Bucci on the
play, who had reached
base on an error.
Charlie Stubbs singled
in the 2nd inning to
score Dylan Whitbread
who had walked and
advanced to 2nd base on
another walk to
Bucci.Sarnia's final run
came in the 5th inning
after Bucci doubled,
Stubbs grounded out to
2nd base, advancing
Bucci to 3rd base, and
Mitchell Bigras hit a
sacrifice fly to center
field, scoring Bucci.
The second game saw
Mitchell Bigras take the
hill, and he scattered 6
hits, striking out 7
batters, while walking
only 2, and picking up
the complete game
victory.. The Braves
also committed 4 errors
in the game. Sarnia
scored 4 runs in the 1st
inning, and 6 more in
the 2nd inning to blow
the game open. Dominic
Bucci, Cole Moriarity,
Travis Helps, Tristan
Buntrock, and Dylan
Whitbread all had 2 hits
in the game while Josh
Taylor and Justin
Stephenson each had 1
hit in the 12 hit
attack.
