The Sarnia Jr. Sting Major Atom MD defeated the West London Hawks by a score of 7-1 on Sunday March 4 in London.
Tyler Talbot-Ellis started the scoring for the Jr. Sting early in the first period from Nathan Oliphant. Evan Trigatti scored unassisted at the five minute mark and Cole Goossens added another unassisted marker shortly after. Mathew Waun would make it 4-0 for the visitors before the end of the first. Aiden Clark was awarded an assist on Mathew’s goal.
Early in the middle frame Evan Trigatti scored his second of the game from Spencer Baillie and Ryan Eyre. With one minute left in the second Ryan Eyre made it 6-1 for the Jr. Sting with Greg Ross and Spencer Baillie assisting.
Spencer Baillie had the Jr. Sting’s only goal in the third period, unassisted. Stevie Schaefer played a great game in net for Sarnia but the Hawks would spoil the shut-out at the nine minute mark of the third when they converted on a five-on-three power play.
Mathew Waun was awarded the coach’s puck for player of the game and Tyler Talbot-Ellis was awarded the parents player of the game puck.
The Major Atom MD continue the Alliance MD West play-downs as they host the London Bandits on Saturday March 10 at the Clearwater Arena at noon.
