Sting lost to Ottawa

Sarnia,
ON - The Sarnia Sting hosted Ottawa on
Friday night and came up shot losing 3 - 1
in OHL action. This was the second
time this season the two teams met and
Ottawa won both times.
Ottawa scored
their first goal in the first period with
Sean Monahan scoring his 31st goal of the
season. Second goal for the 67's was a
penalty shot that was handed out after Nail
Yakupov was penalized for tripping Tyler
Grovacc on a breakaway. Ottawa's final
goal came in the second by Shane Prince.
Sting's only
goal was scored by Charles Sarault after
deflecting a pass from Antony DeAngelo.
Ottawa went 1 for 2 on the power play,
Sarnia went 1 for 4. Sarnia outshot
Ottawa 41 - 23. Ottawa goalie Peter
Mrazek from the Czech Republic was
outstanding in net for the win with 40
saves. JP Anderson took the loss for
Sarnia.
The Sting are
sitting in 4th spot in the Western
Conference and are now 31-23-2-5 after 61
games. There is a tight race for the
4th playoff spot between Sarnia (69 pts) and
Owen Sound (67 pts). Both teams have
seven regular season games remaining.
The Sting are
back in action Sunday March 4 when they host
the Plymouth Whalers beginning at 2:05 p.m.
at the RBC Centre.
The Whalers have
already clinched a playoff spot in the
division.
