Sarnia FC Chelsea U10 Boys won season opener

May 10,  2012

SARNIA FC (CHELSEA) vs. SARNIA FC (MADRID) - U10 BOYS

The Sarnia FC (Chelsea) U10 Boy's team opened up their season on on home soil, Tuesday night May 8th @ the Bluewater Bridge Park Fields. The boys had a great Spring training and were very anxious to start the season.

Under beautiful blue skies, the kick-off was set for 7:00 pm. Sarnia (Chelsea) (coached by Dean Troiani) started typically slow with Sarnia FC Madrid (coached by Mark Cain) opening the scoring early. Sarnia (Chelsea) would settle down and counter soon after as Striker Mateo Troiani fired a thunderous shot which eluded the Madrid keeper. Chesea would take the lead shortly after when midfileder Tristan Konrad sent in the cross which rebounded into the goal off of a Madrid defender. Madrid would quickly bounce back tying the game on a goal mouth scramble firing in the loose ball.

From that point on, Sarnia FC Chelsea took control and never looked back. Five more goals were added by: James Brown (2), Tristan Konrad, Ryan Janssens (1) and Dominic Krasinkiewicz (1). Strong defensive performances were also evident by: Christian D'Agostini, Alex Newall, Dean Palimaka and Ivan Lange. The boys had numerous creative passing plays producing great scoring opportunities. Midfielders and Strikers adding great assists were Kyle Flamminio, Justin Torti, Jimmy Simpson and Josh Allen.

Great keeping from Goalie Andrew Harron shut down many Madrid opportunities. The boys now travel to Chatham next week to face the U10 Attack.

Final score Sarnia FC Chelsea 7 - Madrid 2
