Jake
Marks, an 18 year old
pitcher with the Sarnia
Midget Braves has been named
to the Dominican Summer
League roster of Canada's
Junior National Team which
will compete in Santo
Domingo, Dominican Republic
from May 23 - June 1st. The
team will be facing some of
the Dominican Republics and
Venezuelas top unsigned
talent as part of the trip.
They will play a twelve game
exhibition schedule against
MLB Academy teams in the
Dominican Summer League.
In addition to preparing for
the IBAF 18U World
Championships in September,
the trip to the Dominican
Republic will also be one of
the final opportunities for
draft eligible players on
the JNT to showcase their
talents in front of MLB
scouts before the June 4th -
6th MLB First Year Player
Draft.
Marks, who was also on the
Spring Training Roster of
the JNT , previously pitched
for the gold medal winning
Team Ontario at the Canadian
Championships last August in
Moncton, New Brunswick.
