The Sarnia Saints Women
Rugby team hosted the
Norfolk Harvesters for their
season opener on Saturday at
Norm Perry Park and won with
a final score of 54 - 7.
"I'm really quite pleased we
had a mixture of new and old
girls, some rookies and
established players." Said
Coach Sean Keene who has
been coaching the women's
team for the last four
years. "it was nice to
see a game plan come
together."
The ladies dominated most
phases of play as Sarnia
opened up with a 35-0 lead
by half time. Some
crunching tackles were
delivered by Shelane Stuart
and Briane Belanger.
The second half saw Norfolk
regroup to score a try and
conversion. The Saints
rallied and scored 3 more
tries to close out the game.

Lalonge with 3, Katelyn
Anderson, Lauren Wilks and
had 2 and Daria Keane and
Brianne Belanger scored
singles.
Lisa Oleniuk had seven
conversions for 14 points.
Player of the match was Lauren
Wilks .

depth is coming nicely, pretty
positive. I've very please with
the outcome today, it's really
good to see" said Keene
The
Ladies have schedule a Saturday
June 2 game, however an opponent
is yet to be determined.
