The Sarnia Flag Football Associationís play-offs started this weekend with 2 semi-final games played on Sunday 25 at Lansdowne Park in Sarnia. In the 1st game of the day, the regular season champs, the Bluewater Power Titans took on the 4th placed Lambton Metal Service Rampage it a classic showdown where these 2 teams have met at some point in the play-offs in the last 5 seasons; each time, with the Rampage ending on the losing end. Unfortunately for the Rampage again, history was not on their side as the Titans steamrolled the Rampage defeating them by a score of 57-33. Well protected behind the number one O and D line in the league, Titan QB Pat Wright was stellar leading his offense with 8 touchdown passes. Titan majors include 4 by Jason Cain, 2 each for Teppa Wettergreen and Bryan Weaver and a single by rookie Colin Morgan. In the losing cause, Joel Houle and QB Mark Faasse scored for the Rampage.
In the second semi-final of the day, the 2011 defending champions, the Power Champs took on the Heat. In a penalty filled game, both sides battled hard for the ball. Slowly the Power Champs pulled away from the Heat finally defeating them by a score of 33-20.
And with these semi-final games complete, the table is set for a rematch of the 2011 finals as the Bluewater Power Titans will try to take back the championship from the Power Champs. The Bluewater Cup Championship will be played at 1:00 on Sunday December 02 at Lansdowne Park in Sarnia.
The Sarnia Flag Football Association would also like to remind players and friends that the SFFA League wind up and awards night is Friday November 30 at Stokes Inland Bar and Grill. Cocktails are at 5:30 with dinner starting around 6:00 followed by league awards and presentations.
