Passing the Gavel at the Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame

The Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame held it's annual meeting on Wednesday night at the Hall of Fame located in the Clearwater Arena.
President Wilf Clothier passed the gavel on to incoming President Dale Patterson who will take on the task for the next two years.

Clothier has been a member of the Sports Hall of Fame for twelve years and has acted as President for six years.  He is proud of the accomplishments that the directors and he has achieved over this time with the remodelling the Hall of Fame and also hosting the annual Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner.  Clothier and members of the Board have also participated in Community Events such as providing activities and contest at the Sports Expo and volunteer their time at Tournaments.

The Board of Directors of the Hall of Fame consists of Community Volunteers. Board of Director members who's term had ended accepted another three year term include Jan Allardyce (Secretary), Lyn Forbes, Bob Williamson and Wilf Clothier (Past President). Other members on the Board of Directors are Tom Davey (Treasurer), Mabel Gardiner, Jack McEwen, Rick Bissonnette, Dennis Beach, Pete Coenjarts, Bryan Hurlock and Pat Brethauer.

"I will try to keep things running the same, we don't need many physical improvements at the Hall at this time." said incoming President Dale Patterson "However my goal is reach out to the community to obtain more resume's for future consideration for Induction."

Resumes are being accepted now for the next induction ceremony that will be held on September 28, 2013, at the Camlachie Community Centre in Camlachie.

The Hall of Fame is open to the public from 10 - 12 on Saturday and Sundays.  For a private viewing please contact any member of the board.  The Hall of Fame also welcomes special visits from schools.
