The Lady Sting were in London Saturday afternoon for a game against the Belmont Blazers at the home of the London Knights, the newly renamed Budweiser Gardens.
The Lady Sting wasted no time grabbing the lead only 12 seconds into the game on a nice goal scored by Sydney McDonald with assists going to Averey Devereaux and Lauren Wilson.
The teams traded chances throughout the contest with neither being able to solve the goaltenders.
Jenelle Labadie on the power play would put the Lady Sting up 2 late in the 3rd period. Assists on the play went to Meghan Blythe and Lauren Wilson.
With this game being held at Budweiser Gardens coach Baker felt it fitting to have the goaltenders split the game. Madison Baker started between the pipes and was relieved by Jordan Henry half way through the 2nd period.
Both goalies faced 14 shots each to share in the shutout victory.
The win vaults the Sting into first place, 1 point ahead of Stratford with a game in hand. Next up the Lady’s will travel to London next Friday before returning home on Sunday to face Guelph.
