St. Christopher Ladies Win Junior and Senior Basketball LSSAA Titles
In the LSSAA Girls Basketball finals on Saturday the St. Christopher’s Cyclones took both the Junior and Senior titles over St. Clair.
In the Junior final the Cyclones finished with a final score of 37 – 18. At the half there was just a two point spread between the two teams. In the second the Cyclones put the pressure and took a wide lead.
Jordan Milos was the top scorer in the game scoring 18 of the Cyclones points. Amy Smith scored 6 points and Chelsea Bell and Ashleigh Pettit each scored 4. Ashley Moore was the top scorer on the Colts side with a total of 9 points.

In the Senior final it was another close game with St. Clair trailing 22 – 16 at the half. In the second half of the game the Cyclones pulled ahead and took the win with a final score of 53 – 29.
“I do believe that we’re deeper, and I think we just wore them down,” said Cyclones head coach Ed Dragan.
The Cyclones leaders in the game were Melanie Desena who scored 12 points. Both Yasmine Taylor and Mackenzie Turner each had 11 and Caroline Hummell scored 8. Madison Campbell led St. Clair with 12 points.
The St. Christopher Senior Ladies will now host Chatham MacGregor in SWOSSAA semi finals on Monday.
