Another Successful Weekend for the Sarnia FC U11 Boys

November 20, 2012

The Sarnia FC U11 boys team returned to London to compete in their third doubleheader of the season. Riding a four game unbeaten streak, the boys looked forward to their early competition. Their first opponents of the day matched them against the Middlesex United Stingers. Sarnia came out strong from the opening whistle and dominated play and possession. Striker, Michael Howe would open the Sarnia scoring as he blasted a shot into the left corner of the goal from 15 yards out. Minutes later, Striker Mateo Troiani would put Sarnia up by two as he slammed the perfect cross into the lower right corner of the Strathroy net. Sarnia mid-fielder Nathan Hawkes would later increase the lead by three as he pounded in the loose ball which eluded the Middlesex keeper.

From that point on, Sarnia never looked back and continued to pressure adding an additional 6 goals - Jack Hutchinson, Isaiah Edlington, Joshua Gulamadeen, Mateo Troiani (2), Nathan Hawkes (2) and Michael Howe (2). Showing the perfect poise and composure, Sarnia closed out the game with a shutout. Earning the shutout victory was Sarnia keeper Andrew Harron. As with most strong showings the Sarnia defense stood tall denying all Middlesex chances restricting them to very few shots on goal. This was the best effort and overall performance so far this year by our U11 Boy's team!

Final Score: Sarnia FC 9 - Middlesex United Stingers 0 .

A few hours later Sarnia would play their second match of the day. They would be facing the Southwest Eurostars in the afternoon encounter. In their first meeting of the season Sarnia would draw a tie with the Eurostars in a very competitive match! Still riding high from their first game the boys were very anxious to resume competition. As in the first game, Sarnia forward Michael Howe would get things rolling for the boys scoring in the first few minutes of action! Mid-fielder James Brown would put Sarnia up by two on a very strong individual effort! The Eurostars would fight back however and score two quick goals to tie it up before the half.

In the second half Sarnia dominated and controlled most of the action scoring an additional three goals by Mateo Troiani, Michael Howe and James Brown. Another fine effort from all team members with a huge performance from the defenders and keeper. The win would lift the team into first place in the standings as they remain unbeaten. Overall, two great performances by the Sarnia boys proving once again that practice and execution do reward!

Final Score: Sarnia FC 5 - Southwest Eurostars 2 .
