Margaret Purdy, 17, of Strathroy and Michael Marinaro, 20, of Sarnia will be representing Canada at the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Zagreb, Croatia from Oct 3 -7.

The pair team will be one of 3 Canadian entries in the pairs discipline at this Junior Grand Prix. Purdy and Marinaro won gold at their first assignment of the season in Lake Placid, NY, USA and are hoping for a strong finish in this event.

They will be travelling with coach Alison Purkiss of the Competitive Skating Centre of Strathroy while coach Scott Rachuk will be cheering them on from home. Michael represents the Point Edward Skating Club and Margaret represents the Watford Skating Club.

Margaret and Michael will be skating their short program on Thursday afternoon to the music of Puccini (O mio babbino caro) and then will be skating their free program to music from “The Artist” soundtrack on Friday afternoon.
