SMAA Football Wednesday Night Results in  Atom and Bantam Divisions

In the Atom Division the Planet Stitch Inferno overpowered the Lanxess Shock Wave 38-0. Three different players scored majors for the Inferno. Cody Johnston and Tyler Kerby each scored a pair of touchdowns and Ethan Barnes added a single. Mitchel Schechinger kicked converts on 4 of the 5 touchdowns.

The second game between the Rob Simrak Magic Realty Razor Claws and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 Iron Hides was a nail biter that went down to the final play. In the first half, Jackson Grasse ran to the end zone twice for the Razor Claws on runs of 24 yards and 1 yard. Matt Gouviea converted the first Grasse touchdown. Lucas Kita matched that for the Iron Hides on quarterback sneaks of 1 and 2 yards. Mattheus Hartman's convert on Kita's initial touchdown had the teams tied 14-14 at the half. Grasse put the Claws up again with a 3 yard scamper and Gouveia added the convert. With time winding down, Kita scampered in from 27 yards out as the Razor Claws hung on for a 22-20 victory.

The first game in the Bantam Division between the Mammoet Crane Incorporated Mammoths and the Sarnia Police Association Tiger Sharks was decided on the last play of the game. The Mammoths opened the scoring on a 27 yard run by Patrick Miller. This major was successfully converted on a pass from quarterback Nick Snow to Robert Graham. Before the half was over the Mammoths had punched the ball into the end zone twice more on a 3 yard run up the middle by Mitchell Wardell and a powerful 47 yard ramble by Patrick Miller. Keyshaun Jordan and Austin Clement scored for the Tiger Sharks with Jordan converting Clement's major. The Mammoths were up 19-14 at the break. Both team's defenses tightened in the second half with Jordan running for 42 yards for the Sharks and Tate Humphrey catching a 32 yard pass from Snow for the Mammoths. The hard luck Mammoths led most of the game and had a 25-21 lead with 1:30 to play when the Tiger Sharks began their their final drive. Jordan was a major force on this drive with numerous runs in the 10-15 yard range. On the last play of the game quarterback Dylan Fais dove in from the 1 yard line for a 27-25 Tiger Shark victory.

The Sylvan Learning Centre Bears got off to a great beginning in the finale against the Mechanical Contractor's Association Toros as Matthew Paquette returned the opening kick off 92 yards for a touchdown. The Toros then rattled off 22 straight points on touchdown runs of 1 yard, 75 yards and 33 yards by Jamie Campbell and 2 converts by Dale Leivo. Paquette scored a second major for the Bears on a 6 yard pass from Nicholas Iacobelli. The Toros led 22-12 at the break. The second half was all Toros. They took the opening kickoff and drove the length of the field in an 8 minute drive that concluded with Campbell's fourth touchdown of the game on a 1 yard quarterback sneak to take a 28-12 lead. The Toros then recovered their short kickoff and a 50 yard pass from Campbell to Jonard Robinson increased their lead. The ensuing kickoff was picked up by Aden AlKinani of the Toros and he scampered 48 yards to the end zone for another Toro major. Dale Leivo's convert closed out the scoring in a 42-12 Toro victory.
