Lambton Shores. On - The Sarnia Legionnaires traveled to the Predators territory for a Saturday night game and came home with a 2 - 1 loss in Greater Ontario Jr B Hockey League action. Lambton Shores is now 2 - 0 against Sarnia this season.
Both sides went scoreless in the first period and at 7:06 in the second Predators Kyle Brothers from Ryan Rontondi and Brandon Butler scored the only goal in the period on a power play to give the Predators the lead. A minute and twenty-seven seconds into the third period Legionnaires Jeff Bauer also scored on a power play to equal the score with Jason Teschke and Jeff King assisting. It took just thirteen seconds later for the Predators to regained the lead. Austin Fetterly scored the second and game winning goal assisted by Dillon Liberty and Matteo Ciccarelli.
Sarnia outshot Lambton shores 28 - 21. Brandon Campbell earned the win with 27 saves, Andrew Ganter took the loss with 19 saves.
Despite two goals being scored on power plays the two sides played a more disciplined game than in their previous match up with Sarnia taking a total of eight minutes on four infractions and Lambton Shores taking twelve minutes on six infractions. Sarnia went one for four on power play opportunities, Lambton Shores went one on two opportunities.
Sarnia now stands 4 - 5 - 2, Lambton Shores is now at 4 - 4 - 2.
Sarnia is back in action on Thursday when they host London at 7:10 at the Sarnia Arena. The Predators have a busier week as they are on the road tonight (Sunday Oct 13) to Chatham and on Wednesday Oct 17 they travel to LaSalle then return home on Saturday Oct 20 to take on St. Mary's.
