Mooretown Flags Losing Streak Ends With Win Over Dresden Kings

Mooretown, On - The Mooretown Flags put an end to their five game losing streak with a 3 - 2 win over the Dresden Kings at home Saturday night in Great Lakes Jr C Hockey league action.

Dresden took the lead in the first period scoring at 5:19 by Brennan Rainey.  Caden Fleming evened the score from Travis Mullen and Riley Roberts at 9:28 and at 13:27 Dan Lumley gave the Flags the lead with Matt Brandon assisting.

In the second Riley Roberts gave the Flags a two point spread at 7:40 assisted by Andrew Sokol and Jeff Sit.  Dresden narrowed the gap after scoring a shorthanded goal by Taylor Sisson. 

Third period action saw both Mooretown hold onto the lead with Flags netminder Brandon Johnson coming up with great saves.

Dresden outshot the Flags 43 - 37 and went zero for eight on power play opportunities.  Mooretown went scoreless on five power play opportunities.

Mooretown is back on the road Monday night (October 15) to Wheatley then back at home on Saturday October 20 when they host Wallaceburg for a 7:30 pm game start at the Moore Recreation Centre.
