The first of the Minor Peewee's two games this weekend was against Huron Perth Lakers in Goderich.

The Lakers seemed to dominate the beginning of the first period and despite some strong defence by Lambton the Sting end the first 3-0 down. The second period the Jr Sting game alive on a power play goal by Spencer Vandenboom assisted by Ryan Barwitzki and Carson Perry This brought breath and new hope to the team, with a combination of net minding by goalie Liam McCarthy and hard team work, the Sting score another power play goal by Matt McIntyre assisted by Ryleigh Vanderwal and Cory Smith late in the period to take the game into the third period 4-2 against Lambton. The third brought another power play goal by Matt McIntyre assisted by Dylan Riddell and Spencer Vandenboom and then an unassisted goal by Spencer Vandenboom but the end result was a 6-4 loss to Lambton.

On Sunday the team travelled to Waterloo to face the Wolves.

The Lambton boys played hard from the first drop of the puck putting pressure on the Wolves, Waterloo answer back by pressuring the Sting net but being turned away by goalie Luc Thorne-Smith several times. Lambton took advantage of a power play and Nolan DeGurse scores the first goal of the game assisted by Kyle Kachan. Several more attacks on the Lambton net prove fruitless and after much battling the game moved into the second period 1-0 to the Sting.

Lambton kept up the pressure passing well and keeping the Wolves away and Carson Perry scores assisted by Steele Harris bringing the score to 2-0. Waterloo kept the play at the Lambton end but Thorne-Smith refuses to let them score. The Sting played on full energy and took the puck for another power play goal by Nolan DeGurse assisted by Dylan Riddell. Play continues at the Lambton net and Carson Perry seizes an opportunity to steal the puck assisted by Matt McIntyre and skated through the entire Wolves team to score a beauty top shelf goal while the team were short-handed, bringing the score into the third 4-0.

The last period is as fast as the other two for the Jr. Sting, bringing great passing, checking, solid saves and all-round team work resulting in a further goal by Dylan Riddell assisted by Nolan Degurse and yet another taken by Josh McLean assisted by Steele Harris to give Lambton a 6-0 lead. Unfortunately 2 late penalties give the Wolves power play opportunities to score 2 goals but on the final whistle the Sting take a much deserved win 6-2.
