Point Edwards PeeWee
Blackhawks hosted there first game of
the season and held onto a 3-0 lead to
win 3-2 over a strong Lucan team.
Lucan hit the ice a
bit flat-footed as Best gave the Hawks
an early 1-0 lead just 1 minute into
play. This looked to wake up the Lucan
team and the rest of the period was an
end-to-end see-saw that had the defense
and goalies of both teams keeping the
offensive push at bay.
The Hawks started the
second like they did in the first and
got another goal just one minute into
the period to take a 2-0. With the Point
one man down, Lucan couldn’t clear the
puck out their end as the Hawks
fore-checked hard which paid off when
Best got his third goal of the game to
give the Point a commanding 3-0 lead.
This seemed to put a spark under the
Lucan team and within a two minute span
managed to make the score 3-2 going into
the third.
The third period
again saw both teams play hard but the
defense and goalies from both teams
settled in and didn’t give the offense
any good scoring opportunities. The
Hawks held onto the one goal lead to win
it 3-2.
