Pt
Edward PeeWee Blackhawks Get 5-0 Win
Over Predators In Lambton-Middlesex
League Action
Dec 17;Point Edwards
PeeWee Blackhawks travelled to Forest to
play the Predators in Lambton-Middlesex
league action and came away with a
convincing 5-0 win.
The first half of the
period was a bit slow for both teams as
the Hawks were playing on a larger ice
surface than usual. As the first period
drew to a close the Hawks began to get
more comfortable and began taking
control of the play more. With two
minutes left in the period, Jackson took
a blistering slap shot from the blue
line that the goalie couldn’t handle and
Best put it home to make it 1-0. With
seconds left in the period and the Hawks
controlling the puck in the Predators
zone, Terpstra took a wrist shot from
the top of the face-off circle that hit
the left top corner to give the Point a
2-0 lead going into the second.
With a 2-0 lead, the
Point began to command the play with
most of the action taking place in the
Predators end. Midway through the period
and in a repeat of his first goal,
Terpstra took a crossing ice wrist shot
that beat the Predators goalie to make
it 3-0. With the Predators trying to
regain their composure, the Point
continued with the pressure and it paid
off when a scramble occurred in front of
the Lambton Shores net and Canie
slamming it. As in the first with the
period coming to a close, Potvin shot
the puck with Hunking getting the
rebound to end the period 5-0 for the
Point.
The third saw the
Hawks play a little sloppy with a 5-0
lead and getting into a bit of penalty
trouble, but the defense and goaltending
held the Predators off the board and
giving the Point the win.

Pt Edward PeeWee’s Go
into Xmas Break with a Win
Dec 20Point Edwards
PeeWee Blackhawks hosted the Mt Brydges
Cougars in their last league game before
the Christmas break and gave the Point
crowd a 7-0 present in Lambton-Middlesex
league.
Mt Brydges came out
physical from the opening puck drop
which caught the Point a bit off guard.
The Cougars physical game cost them
early when the Point scored during a
power play as Jackson took a slap shot
from the blue line and Young got the
rebound to give the Hawks an early 1-0
lead. The Hawks took advantage of their
momentum and scored shortly thereafter
to make it 2-0 when Laframboise made a
cross ice pass to Hocking who put it low
on the Cougars goalie. The Hawks caught
themselves in the sin bin for the
remainder of the period but Mt Brydges
couldn’t take advantage of the extra
man.
The second period saw
the Cougars take themselves right out of
the game as a majority of the period was
played a man short and the Hawks made
them pay. Riddell got things going in
the second with some fancy stickhandling
down the ice to beat the Cougars goalie
up high. Before the Cougars could regain
their composure, Riddell let one fly
from the blue-line to make it 4-0.
Midway through the period Young got into
the goal scoring with a wrist shot that
beat a screened Mt Brydges goaltender.
Before the game got called due to time,
Young would score his second and
Terpstra his first of the game to end
the 2011 part of the season with a 7-0
win.
