At home on Thursday night the Lambton Minor Midgets defeated the Chatham-Kent Cyclones with a final score of 6 - 1.

Lambton went up 3 - 1 after the first period with Matthew Doidge scoring a power play goal assisted by Riley Roberts and Bradley Campbell.  Adam Craievich scored the second from Adam Wammes and Matteo Ciccarelli and Riley Roberts scored the third Lambton goal from Matthew Doidge.  John Montgomery scored the only goal for Chatham unassisted.

In the second Matteo Ciccarelli scored both goals the first assisted by Adam Craievich and Bradley Campbell and the second on a power play assisted by Adam Wammes and Dennis Yan.

Third period saw Dennis Yan scoring the final goal assisted by Riley Roberts.

Lambton outshot Chatham 44 - 23.  Cornel Felder took the win in net for the Jr Sting.

Game 2 of the six point series is in Bothwell on Sunday, game time 5:00 pm.  Game 3 is back at home on Monday Jan 26 at the RBC centre with a 6:45 game start.
