Marinaro and Purdy Bring Home Gold at Junior ISU Grand Prix in Lake Placid

Michael Marinaro and Margaret Purdy finished in first place after the free skate program and with a combined total of of 144.72 points in Short/Free Skate earned the couple a gold medal for Canada.  The Russian Pair Vasilisa Davankova and Andrei Deputat that held first after the short program came in second with 133.11 points. USA skaters Madeline Aaron and Max Settlage jump into third spot overtaking their USA team mates Deputath Haven and Brandon Frazier.  Two other Canadian teams Shalena Rau and Phelan Simpson moved from 10th  to take 8th and Krystel Desjardins and Charlie Bilodeau moved from 11th to 10th position giving Canada three teams in the top ten.
 
Other medal winners for Canada were 13-year-old Roman Sadovsky who made it to the podium Friday night, securing a bronze medal in the junior men’s event and  Andréanne Poulin( L’Île-Bizard, Que.) and Marc-André Servant (Vaudreuil, Que.) won ice dance bronze early Saturday morning.
