Lambton Jr Sting Minor Peewee hosted Cambridge Hawks in Home Opener

Sept 8, - The Lambton Jr Sting came out strong in the first period with an immediate attack by the forwards on the Hawks' net. The Hawks reply with some strong play resulted in their first game penalty. The Jr Sting grabbed possession of the puck on the power play and immediately pressure the Hawks' net resulting in the first goal of the game scored by Nolan DeGurse.

The score stood at 1-0 in favour of the Jr Sting heading into the 2nd period. The Jr Stinig continued to play hard but took a penalty which the Hawks used to their advantage to grab an equalizer.

The play continued with another penalty for the Hawks and a fantastic power play effort by the Jr Sting resulted in DeGurses' 2nd goal of the game giving the Jr Sting a 2-1 lead.

Lambton entered the 3rd and final period with the lead but another penalty for the Jr Sting brought the score to 2-2. Despite several attempts in the final minutes by the Hawks, Lambton’s strong defense and solid net-minding by Liam McCarthy, kept Cambridge from scoring giving the two teams a 2-2 tie after a hard and well fought first game.
