The Lambton Jr Sting Minor Midgets will be competing in a showcase tournament this weekend, hosted at the home of the Sarnia Sting at the RBC Centre on Saturday August 17 and Sunday August 18.

A total of ten games will be played with five teams competing that include three American teams; the Oakland Grizzlies, Detroit Compuware and Michigan Nationals along with two Canadian teams, Mississauga Senators and Lambton Jr. Sting.

"We are looking forward to it" said Lambton Minor Midget Head Coach Jeff Perry "It's a great opportunity for our team to get together and to get some games under our belts before we enter our first tournament in Toronto in early September." 

The action begins on Saturday for the home team at 10:00 am when the Lambton Jr. Sting will take on the Oakland Grizzlies.  Lambton's second game on Saturday will be played at 2:30 pm against the Mississauga Senators, then on Sunday they will go up against the Michigan Nationals at 9:15 am and their final game at 1:00 pm against Detroit Compuware.

"We will be up against some very stiff competition" Perry said "Teams from the states are '97's and '98 birth players, so there will be some older kids that we will be up against and very quality hockey teams."
