The Sarnia Legionnaires Jr B team has added Forest Native Cody Trowell to their 2013 – 14 line up.
The 19 year 6’ 1” Center tallied 6 goals and 9 assists in 42 games with the Pembrooke Lumber Kings Tier 2 Jr. A team last season. In 2011-12 Trowell scored 22 points in 46 games with the Legionnaires rival Lambton Shores Predators.
The former North Lambton Student is familiar with members of the team as he grew up with Nathan Mater and Tyler Prong playing with them in the Lambton AAA organization.
“I’ve been wanting to play here since I was 16 so I’m pretty excited." Trowell said “I’m looking for a breakout season and I think I can help this team in the offensive department.”
Head Coach Dan Rose is working on putting together solid lines that will produce points.
“He’ll bring some skill, it was important that we replace Jason Tescke and Brent Sauve, they put up some good numbers for us." Head Coach Dan Rose said “It’s always good getting a veteran that’s got some skill and can step right into the lineup and produce right away. He’ll be in that group of kids that will produce points for us for sure.”
The Legionnaires Season/Home Opener is set for September 5th when they host the Lambton Shores Predators at the Sarnia Arena.
