Photo:- IAAF World Track and FieldCorunna Native Derek Drouin has won a bronze medal for Canada in the men's high jump at the IAAF World Track and Field championships in Moscow.
The 2012 Olypic Bronze medallist cleared 2.38 metres on Thursday for a Canadian record and to get to the final group of three where he was beaten Bohdan Bondarenk of Ukraine who won the gold and Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar won silver.

Drouin, student at the University of Indiana had an impressive NCAA season. Drouin has been selected to the final three for the Bowerman Award, given to the top NCAA track and field athlete. This would be Canada first award winner. The winner will be selected in December.
