Sarnia Sting Lost in Barrie

The Sarnia Sting were in Barrie on Thursday night for their final game before Christmas and suffered a 7 - 2 loss against he Colts.

 

Sarnia scored one in the first period and one in the third, both power play goals the first by Jimmy McDowell and the second by Nicolay Goldobin. 

 

Barrie scored two goals in the first, four in the second and added a single in the third.

 

Andreas Athanasiou scored four goals and an assist for the Colts.  Andrew Mangiapane had a four point night with two goals and two assists and Kevin Labanc scored a single.

 

Barrie outshot the Sting 45 - 26.  Taylor Dupuis got the start in net for the Sting made 22 saves and after the 6th goal was replaced by Brodie Barrick who turned away 16 of 17 shots.  Mackenzie Blackwood earned the win for the Colts made 24 saves.

 

The Sting went two for eight on the power play, Barrie went one for ten.

 

The Sting are now off until Dec 29th when they host Owen Sound.  On New Years Eve they are in London then the two teams are back in Sarnia New Years Day.
