Marinaro and Purdy Silver Medalist at World Junior Championship in Milan Italy

Sarnia native Michael Marinaro and his partner Margaret Purdy from Watford skated a personal best to win the silver medal on Thursday at the ISU Worlds Junior Pairs Figure Skating Championship in Milan Italy today.

We are very happy with our performances that we had. We’re pretty pleased with how it went. We’re very proud of the season that we had and it is a good way to end off our junior career and ready to step into seniors next year”, Marinaro said.

 
Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier who placed third after the short program took the gold medal with 155.83 points, followed by Purdy and Marinaro who finished with 154.70 points.
Russian pair Lina Fedorova and Maxim Miroshkin climbed from 7th position to earned the bronze after posting the best score in the free skate for a total of 154.70.

Chinese Pairs Xiaoyu Yu and Yang Jin drop from first place after the short to 4th. 

Canada's Brittany Jones and Ian Beharry dropped from 5th to 7th place and Hayleigh Bell and Alistair Sylvester moved up from 14th to 11th spot.
