Lambton Bantams Compete Hard in Toronto Marlboro Tournament

The Lambton Jr. Sting Bantams went 2 wins and 2 losses at the Toronto Marlboro Holiday Classic over the Holidays.

The Sting team were competitive in the round robin portion of the tournament finishing 2-2 and did not move on to the playoff round.  The Jr Sting placed 11th out of 23 teams in their Conference. The top 8 moved on.

In game one Lambton fell to Ontario #2 ranked Toronto Jr. Canadiens by a score of 7 - 1.  The game was scoreless half way through the game until Lambton gave up 2 power play goals by the end of second period. After the Marlies scored another power play and short handed goal in the third period the game was out of reach. Byron Ruzik-Monague scored for Lambton assisted by Isaac McLean and Curtis Helps.


In game two Lambton defeated the Guelph Jr. Storm in a close contest with a final score of 2 - 1.  Game Three saw Lambton also win by a score of 2 - 1 over the Quinte Red Devils.  Eric March and Brock Perry scored with assists goin to Isaac McLean.


In their final game the Lambton Jr Sting lost a hard fought game to Detroit Little Caesars that ended with a final score of  4 - 3. Franco Sproviero scored two goals in the game and a single by Jarett Marks.  Sproviero and Marks each assisted on goals and Alec Dekoning, Curtis Helps and Ryan Greenaway also earned assists in the game.



The Major Bantam's look to finish off the season on a high note as they face off against London Knights on Friday and play a back to back series against Chatham.  Currently they are in second place four points behind London and two points ahead of Chatham who are one game back on Lambton.
