Port Huron held it's first of two Silver Stick Tournaments on the weekend with the Peewee and Bantam AAA divisions competing from January 10 - 13.

 

Lambton Jr Sting Peewees went 0 - 3 - 1 in the tournament.  In their first game they tied Team Illinois 1 - 1.  In the second game the Jr Sting took a 3 - 1 loss against the Anaheim Wildcats.  In game three the Westchester Express defeated Lambton 7 - 1 and in their final match up against the Toronto Marlboros they lost 3 - 1.  In the Peewee AAA Championship game the Mississauga Rebels were shut out by Detroit Honeybaked 5 - 0.

 

In the Bantam Division the Lambton AAA Bantams went 1 - 3.  In their first game against Halton Hurricanes it was a close contest where Lambton lost with a final score of 3 - 2.  In the second game the Jr Sting were shut out by Detroit Compuware by a score of 5 - 0.  Another close contest in game three that ended with a final 3 - 2 loss agaisnt the Michigan Nationals.  In their final game the Jr Sting shut out the Rochester Rattlers by a final score of 7 - 0.  In the Bantam final Detroit Honeybaked defeated the Toronto Marlboros 6 - 3.

 

The next Silver Stick tournament will be held this weekend in Sarnia January 17 - 20 with teams competing in the Atom and Midget divisions.

 

Port Huron then will host their second weekend for Peewee and Bantam  A - AA divisions from January 24 - 27th.
