The Sarnia Legionnaires will be strongly represented at the upcoming Western Jr. 'B' all star game.

In fact, six Sarnia players have been selected to participate in the contest, which will be held Jan. 28 in St. Thomas.

The local hockey club is tied for first with the London Nationals for the most athletes picked for the prestigious annual event.

Legionnaires chosen include forwards Davis Boyer and Jason Teschke, defencemen Matt Cimetta, Steve Farlow and Tyler Prong and goalie Sean Parker.

They will play with 'Team Harvey,' which is made up of players from Sarnia, LaSalle, Chatham, Strathroy and St. Marys. Their opponents will be 'Team Weir,' which consists of representatives from London, St. Thomas, Leamington, Lambton Shores and St. Marys.

The teams are named after long-time Western Ontario Hockey Conference convenors.

"We're very proud to have our boys named to it,” Legionnaire general manager Bob Williamson said Friday. However, he did not read too much into the number of Sarnia players selected, saying, “The majority of teams have roughly the same number of players.”

St. Thomas, Lambton Shores, LaSalle and Chatham all had five players named, while Strathroy and Leamington had four and St. Marys two.
