The Minor Peewee faced the Chatham Cyclones at the Ridgetown Arena on Sunday and were were edged out in a 5 - 4 loss.
Lambton scored the first goal of the game with Dylan Riddell scoring assisted by Kyle Kachan. The Cyclones answered back scoring on a power play to even the scored. Chatham then would score their second power play goal to take a 2 - 1 lead after the first period of play.
Chatham widened their lead by two in the second period scoring back to back goals and taking a 4 - 1 lead. The Jr. Sting continued to work hard and on a power play Hunter Monkhouse and Jaxon Shelton took the puck out of their own end and passed it on to Nolan DeGurse who popped one in. The second ended with the Cyclones leading 4 - 2.
The Jr Sting continue to pressure in the third and Carson Perry scored to narrowed the gap 4 - 3. However another power play goal by Chatham gave them the two point spread. Lambton continued to pressure and Perry again scored to bring the score to within one. Lambton's Goaltender Liam McCarthy was pulled for the final attempt to tie the game, but Chatham scored to secure the win.
Next weekend the Minor Peewee travel to Lansing to take part in the Nations Cup Tournament.
