LONDON – The Sarnia Legionnaires put on a dominant display here Wednesday on their way to a 6-3 win over the London Nationals.
 

Coach Dan Rose's squad won for the third time in a row and for the sixth time in seven outings to move into a tie for sixth place in the Western Ontario Hockey Conference standings with the Strathroy Rockets. The victory was also their third in four games with the Nats this campaign. Three of those conquests have come on the road.
 

Sean Consitt gave the home team the lead when he tipped in a shot at the 7:54 mark of the opening frame.
 

But Thomas Moxley squared matters with a beautiful goal six minutes later. The big forward danced around two Nats and whipped home a drive from close range.
 

The PA announcer awarded the goal to Bobby King and no change had been made by this writing. But there's no question Moxley was the marksman, whatever the record book might end up saying.
 

In the second stanza London struck quickly, with Blake Thomas giving the Nats a 2-1 edge at 2:19.
 

But Matt Cimetta got that one back just 28 seconds later when he came in off the point, skated into the slot and rifled home the tying marker. Assists went to Brent Sauve and Jason Teschke.
 

Not long after that, Sauve beat goalie Taylor Edwards on the glove side after taking a perfect passout from behind the net from Derek D'Andrea. Jeff King also drew an assist.
 

Jon Sims tied the game for the home team before the middle period came to a close.
 

With less than five minutes to go in the third frame Sauve got his second of the night.
 

“D'Andrea and Moxley went hard to the net on a two-on-one break, the goalie made the save and I shot it in on his glove side,” Sauve said later.
 

Teschke scored into the empty net to make it 5-3 in the last minute of play.
 

Edwards went back into his cage but the Legionnaires scored again, with Josh Kestner pulling the trigger to finish off a two-on-one rush. Assists went to Nathan Mater and Hunter Tyczynski.
 

Although he didn't figure in the scoring, Tyler Prong was a tower of strength on the Sarnia blueline.
 

Officially, London outshot the Legionnaires 40-21 but Sarnia coach Dan Rose felt the count was not accurate. In fact, whoever was keeping the totals failed to give the Legionnaires credit for a large number of shots.
 

Sean Parker picked up his 16th win of the season for Sarnia.
