On Monday Corunna Midgets hosted Dresden. Keenan Smith picked up the win giving up 3 runs on 1 hit and was relieved in the 4th inning by Kurtis Brown who gave up 4 runs on one hit. Corunna belted out 12 hits enroute to a 17 – 7 victory that lasted 5 innings due to the mercy rule.
Tuesday night in Chatham Corunna went down 3 – 0 before battling back with two runs in the 5th and one in the sixth to tie the game. Zack Sutherland started the game and pitched three innings. He was relieved by Lachlin MacDonald who pitched well for the next three innings. The seventh inning was scoreless for both teams. Jeremy Devereaux faced three batters in the 7th to preserve the tie for Corunna. Kyle Scott had a strong game for Corunna with two hits and also threw the final out of the game on an attempted steal of second.
Corunna’s record now stands at 4 – 1 – 1. Their next game is Saturday June 8th when the face Essex “A” in Courtright at 2:00 pm.
