The Sarnia Rookie Select Braves (U9) baseball team have been practicing since early February and with their season opening being delay due to weather they were ready for their first game on Tuesday.
In their season opener the Braves traveled to Port Lambton night to face the Pirates and came out on top with a 20 - 15 win.
Logan Woods hit a grand slam that clinched the victory and Aiden Mullins made some big plays from the pitcher's mound.
The Rookie Braves are back in action on Saturday June 8 when they host Alvinston at 3:00 pm at Tecumseh Park.
