The Sarnia FC U 10 Red Machine was primed and ready for action on Tuesday, June 11. The weather was finally cooperating and the boys were raring to go. The boys settled into their game early with Matteus Hartmann opening the scoring off a feed from Matthew Gouveia. A short while later, Matthew Gouveia would pick up the ball in midfield, dribble through the U 9 Attack defense and pound the second goal into the top corner of the net. Wyatt Ladanchuk would add two more goals before the half, as well as Ewan Morrison, Eric Larocque and Matteus Hartmann (his second). The half would end with the FC team up 7-0.
The Attack would add two goals of their own during the second half, but would not be able to match the passing and team play of the FC Red squad. The FC boys moved the ball well across the pitch with great, controlled play exhibited by all boys. Jacob Beaudoin,Jacob Drapotoy, Janzen Wark and Branyn Cooper would demonstrate excellent multi-positional play as they helped set up many goals and secure a true team victory. Goals in the second half were added by Ewan Morrison, Eric Larocque, Wyatt Ladanchuk (who would secure his hat trick for the night) and Jordan Foster who pestered the Attack goalie on the line and secured his first goal of the season!
Jeremy MacMillan was excellent in net, making a couple of diving saves and supporting the defense well. The team would like to send special recognition to team mate Alex Weir, who is currently on the injured reserve list, but came to support his team and cheer them on. All coaches and parents are very proud of the boys' willingness to learn and dedication to continuing to develop every aspect of their game. Keep up the great work FC Red!!
