The Alvinston Indians travelled to Glanworth on Wednesday night to play the Glanworth Gators in St. Thomas & District Major Fastball League action.
Glanworth opened the scoring with two runs in the second and one more in the third, with Randy Gray providing the big hit, delivering a 2 run double for Glanworth.
Glanworth had a 3-0 lead until the top of the fourth inning, when Jeff Lyons walked with one out, and Aaron Stocking hit a 2 run home run to get the Indians close. It was the fifth inning where the Indians delivered their big inning. Alix Chisholm tripled for Alvinston, and with one out, Joe Triest and Jamie Shields walked to load the bases. Jeff Lyons then hit an RBI single to score Chisholm to tie the game at 3`s. Stocking then followed J. Lyons with a single, scoring both Joe Triest and Shields. Ty Sebastian was then hit by a pitch to load the bases again, and with two out, Brad Cooper singled up the middle to score both Stocking and Sebastian. Chisholm then recorded his second hit of the inning when he singled, and Andy Triest followed with an RBI single to score C. Lyons for the sixth run of the inning for Alvinston.
This would end up being the final score, as the Indians won 8-3 over the Gators. Jeff Lyons was the winning pitcher for Alvinston.
