Sarnia Braves Senior Men went one and one Sunday

The Sarnia Braves hosted the Windsor Selects in a double header game in Can Am Senior Men's league action at Errol Russell Park.

 

In game one the Braves took a 9 - 6 win over the Selects.  Selects got on board first scoring two runs in the first inning.  In the third the Braves did the most damage and scored eight runs to take the lead and added a single in the fourth inning.  In the seventh the Selects scored four runs but it wasn't enough and the Braves took the win.

 

Anthony Shepherd got the start and went five innings on the mound striking out two, allowing two runs, three hits and two walks..  Wade Babula pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing four runs, four hits and one walk with one strikeout. Nick Baljeau came in late in the inning to close.

 

At bat Justin Randall hit a home run and a double.  Dom Bucci and Alex McLean each had a double and single.  James Grant and McKenzie Maxwell both hit two singles and Mike Damchuk, Greg Sinclair and Charlie Stubbs hit singles.

 

In game two the Braves suffered a 10 - 6 loss.  The Selects scored six runs in the second inning.  The Braves scored four runs in the fourth and added two more in the fifth to tie the game but in the sixth the Selects scored four runs and held on for the win. 

 

Nick Baljeau pitched for 5 2/3 innings striking out two and allowing 10 runs.  Justin Stephenson came in and closed.

 

At bat Jeff Randall hit out three singles, McKenzie Maxwell hit two.  Justin Randall and Alex McLean had a double and single, Josh Taylor hit a triple and James Grant and Mike Damchuk got on board with singles each.

 

The Braves are back in action on Tuesday June 25 when they host the Tecumseh Jr at 7:30 pm at Errol Russell.
